What is the Subaru AWD?

The Influence of a low centre of gravity on driving

Notice how there's less body motion and that the amplitude decreases faster when the "weight" on the left is lower.

It's all to do with the differences in centres of gravity.

When the vehicle turns a corner, centrifugal force acts to cause the body to sway toward the outer side of the curve. If the centre of gravity is high at this time, you can see that the motion is the same as with the previous arrow, but the amplitude is greater and more time is required to return to normal equilibrium.

Since the Subaru Horizontally-Opposed Engine is lighter and more compact, the engine can be mounted in a lower position, which adds to vehicle stability during cornering. That's why Subaru AWD gives a level of responsiveness and driver satisfaction like no other performance car.
